The Korea Society of Educational Studies in Mathematics was established in November in 1991 for the purpose of contributing to mathematics education in Korea by promoting research and communication on the theories and practices of mathematics education. Activities

กแ Semiannual Meetings

The semiannual meeting is the most important event of KSESM in that various research results on mathematics education by members are presented and discussed. The meeting is held both in June and in November every year. In addition to research papers of members, the meeting includes invited lectures of senior scholars in Korea and abroad, workshops, and exhibitions. A general meeting is held periodically in the November meeting.

กแ Focused Seminars

Central to the focused seminar is to read and discuss recent materials on mathematics education. The seminar is held four times per year - February, April, August, and December - at different universities across the nation. More than 47 seminars have been held. The followings are the main contents of past seminars.

กแ Journals

The organization publishes two journals, The Journal of Educational Studies in Mathematics and School Mathematics.  The former deals with overall research results of mathematics education and is published four times per year - February, May, August, and November. The latter deals specifically with practices of school mathematics and is published four times per year - March, June, September, and December.

The languages of the journals are Korean and English. Manuscripts should conform to the <Rules for Submitting Manuscripts> and <Guidelines on Writing Manuscripts>. Manuscripts should be written in either Hangul or MS Word. They can be sent to either the main office of the organization or the corresponding chief editor via mail or email. Authors who send their manuscripts via mail should provide four copies.
